Why Sunday November 3rd, 2024?
Building upon the success in the USA of the National Prayer Assembly, the Million Women Esther Call on the Mall, and His key Feast of the Lord, the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, it's time to take His gift of repentance to the grassroots----through His true shepherds into His true Church, His Body. " There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." (Ephesians 4:4-6).
November 3, 2024 will be a National Day of Repentance in our Christ-centered churches, across denominations, in the USA, and in the other 49 nations we reach out to that may wish to join us. In a person's prayer closet or during the church services that Day or that weekend, may the shepherd of every congregation honoring Him, the Messiah, the Christ, take time during the service to focus on His gift of repentance. In doing so we hope to respond to the Scripture set forth in 2 Chronicles 7:13,14: " When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
And, Maybe, this is something that you can plan in your area - it could be even in your own prayer closet - and that is that we would take time to Really Follow God's Word - which is found in several places - of which the most classic scripture is 2 Chronicles 7 13-14 - mentioned above!!
As here we learn that the Lord Himself wants us all to return back to Him alone !! He said this originally to Solomon at the finishing of the First temple 3,000 years ago - and He says it to you and me today !!
In the very first place God says that "If I withhold the rain or if I send locusts or if I send pestilence on any land then IF MY People who are called by My Name will humble themselves, pray, seek my face and then TURN from their Wicked Ways...." then the Lord says... "THEN I will hear from Heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land !"
And our forefathers in the United States knew this so well !! They did "Election Sermons" !!
Starting way back in 1631 is the first recorded one and there was a wonderful connection between God's word and the Shepherds in the local churches interfacing with legislators themselves. Many of which were Christian ! In fact the very first Speaker of the House of representatives in the United States 1789 was a pastor - Pastor Meulenberg - the number one very first speaker !
There have been days of national prayer each year, but no other call for National Repentance has been issued from Congress or the White House since 1974!!
NOW: This Sunday could be much more than just a sermon or a teaching, as excellent as that could be. But, As the Holy Spirit may lead, perhaps the shepherd of that specific flock will give three to five minutes of private time for each person to confess and then repent from a personal sin such as is listed in Proverbs 6:16-19: " These six things the LORD hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren."
And then, as the shepherd and the Holy Spirit may lead, perhaps the shepherd of that flock will give three to five minutes in private for each person to confess and repent from a national sin: like the killing of innocents in the womb, or idolatry (the spirit of self or mammon), or legalized sexual perversions, or the failure to stand with Israel 100%..
Proverbs 14:34 in the Complete Jewish Bible version states: "Righteousness makes a nation great, but sin degrades any people."
Election sermons calling people back to God started in the American colonies in 1631. Today our nation has been severely degraded. You and I can change that as we REPENT! This nation has held more than 800 earlier days, not just of prayer, but of repentance.
Please share this timely move of repentance with your prayer team and your pastor, and encourage them to join us.
That pastor too needs to repent: " For the time has come for judgment to begin in the house of God..." ( 1 Peter 4:17).
Repentance is not condemnation, but the purging, chastening, and purifying of the church by the loving hand of God!
Revelation 3:19 AMP
Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I rebuke and discipline [showing them their faults and instructing them]; so be enthusiastic and repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will].
